CIEF Chapter of Central Texas

While CIEF Programming started in mid-2022 in the North Texas region, the CIEF Chapter of Central Texas was officially chartered in August of 2024. The Chapter exists to empower students to pursue careers in the built environment through relationships with industry mentors, community members, and real-world workforce development programs.

Classes are invited to compete in The Associated Builders and Contractor's (ABC) Build Competiton that includes: Plumbing, Drywall/Carpentry, Electrical, and HVAC challenges. Teams of 4 students will receive blueprints and materials in advance to allow for practice. PPE and tools will be provided. Teams must arrive early for a safety briefing and an early start. Some components must be prefabricated, so plan for a pickup truck or trailer to transport them to the event.

Six-week competition to design and plumb a dream bathroom. Students will be paired with a mentor for virtual meetings to complete the challenge and bring their design to life.
