PANELIST: LISA BALLANTYNE
Sr. Vice President, Turner Construction Company
Lisa is Senior Vice President of Turner Construction responsible for Northern & Southern California. She joined Turner in 1998 in their Boston office, previously working for a heavy highway contractor. Lisa held positions in project management and operations for many years and was promoted through many ranks within the company serving as vice president of Special Project Division and later Risk Management Department in New York City. Later she relocated to the Bay Area where she was the General Manager responsible for business operations and management of offices in San Francisco, Oakland & Milpitas. In 2018, Lisa was promoted to Senior Vice President for Northern California, adding oversight of the Sacramento area to her responsibilities. In February of this year, Lisa added the Southern California region to her portfolio. In total, Lisa is responsible for over $1.5B of revenue annually. She also is the senior sponsor for the Virtual Design & Construction team nationally.
Lisa has a BSCE from Tulane University in New Orleans, and an MBA from Simmons College, School of Management in Boston. A native of Massachusetts, Lisa now resides in Orinda, California with her husband Brant, and sons Graham (age 16) and Brant (age 15).

Partner, Best Best & Krieger
Nancy is a partner and Sacramento office managing partner at Best Best & Krieger LLP where she works with clients in both the private and public sector, focusing on real estate transactions, leasing, finance, and business contracts. Nancy started her career with more than 10 years of experience as a commercial real estate lender for several community banks. Immediately prior to joining BB&K, Nancy was the CEO of The Evergreen Company, a veteran Northern California developer of retail and office projects. As CEO, she handled financing, general counsel, administrative and joint venture matters. Nancy was also a transactional real estate attorney with McDonough Holland & Allen PC from 2000 to 2006. Prior to that, she was an investment officer for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). In that capacity, she was responsible for investing $1.8 billion in real estate assets, formulating policy and investment strategies, and negotiating and restructuring several major contracts for more than $1 billion in timber assets.

As President & CEO, Allison oversees the strategic direction of Otto Construction, including client outreach and negotiation, identifying, and acquiring new clients, maintaining relationships with current and past clients, and overseeing projects from an executive standpoint. She participates in all aspects of managing the company, focusing on setting and achieving financial goals, implementing strategic planning objectives, and positioning the company well within the communities where Otto operates.
As a third-generation family member in the business, Allison continues the legacy of honesty and integrity, and is proud of Otto’s 74 years of building in California. She joined the Otto team in 2000 as the marketing director, launching the company’s marketing department. The marketing and branding that Allison spent a decade developing is still maintained today. In July 2021, Allison was appointed President and CEO, making Otto Construction one of the largest woman-owned-and-operated commercial general contractors in Northern and Central California.
Allison earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and graduated from the UC Davis Construction Management Certificate Program. She is also a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and an Associate Design-Build Professional (DBIA Assoc).
