Lauren Nunnally | Swinerton Builders
Chief Administrative Officer & Senior VP


Lauren Nunnally is a Senior Vice President at Swinerton with 16 years of construction experience. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and her MBA from the The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Lauren started with Swinerton in 2005 as a Project Engineer and remained in core operations for eight years, rising quickly to Project Manager and gaining experience in numerous markets. After completing her MBA, Lauren returned to Swinerton as a Director in the Business Technology department, working to reorganize and focus IT on the business of construction. She then pivoted to creating a new corporate department called Craft Services, which enabled the expansion and profitability of Swinerton’s self-perform operations with a heavy emphasis on craft recruiting, training and development, productivity, and optimization of all craft-related processes. In 2019, Lauren assumed the role of Chief Talent Officer responsible for Swinerton’s talent strategy for all 4,500+ administrative and craft employees. With a passion for culture, talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, and the employee experience, Lauren works to align talent strategies to Swinerton’s global business objectives and deliver tangible performance results. Lauren assumed her current role of Chief Administrative Officer in 2022 and added Corporate Responsibility to her areas of oversight in addition to all Talent, Craft Services, and HR operations.

​Julie Brown is a sought after speaker, networking expert, business strategist, Author of This Shit Works: A No-Nonsense Guide to Networking Your Way to More Friends, More Adventures, and More Success, a book dedicated to making networking easy, accessible (and even fun!) as well as the host of the This Shit Works podcast. 
 
If you cringe at the thought of attending a networking event (virtual or otherwise), if you’re looking to expand your professional network, advance your career and expand business, Julie’s advice and tips strike the perfect balance of humor and expertise gained from more than 20 years of networking and business development experience within the construction industry.

Assemblymember Buffy Wicks | California State Assembly
Representing the East Bay


Assemblymember Buffy Wicks represents the East Bay in the California State Assembly. Elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020, her district spans the communities of Oakland to Richmond, and includes the City of Berkeley.

Asm. Wicks’ work in the Assembly focuses heavily on housing, and she was recently appointed Chair of the Committee on Housing and Community Development. Her work also focuses on issues such as the expansion of the social safety net, privacy, and championing the rights of women and working families. 

A lifelong community organizer, Asm. Wicks previously served on both of President Barack Obama’s campaigns, and worked for him in the White House. She lives in Oakland with her husband, Peter, and daughters, Jojo and Elly.
