CIEF CREATE® Competition- Mentor Opportunities:
The CREATE® Competition aims to educate and inspire high school students to explore career paths in shaping the built environment. As a mentor, you'll provide a brief career presentation, sharing what you do and why you're passionate about it, as well as offering guidance on how the student project relates to your specific discipline. Additionally, you may invite students to join a field trip (either virtual or in person, depending on restrictions) to one of your job sites or offices. Mentor Registration (link here)
CIEF Nor-Cal Design Build Competition® Committee:
The Design Build Competition® Committee supports the planning and logistics of the student builder's event. Committee members will support in-kind donation outreach, architectural mentor/plan reviewer recruitment, and more! The committee will meet once a month from November through May. CIEF Nor-Cal Trades Day Committee:
The Trades Day Committee supports the planning and logistics of the one-day career connected learning event for high school students. Committee members will support outreach for exhibitors and schools recruitment, volunteer coordination and more! The Committee will meet once a month from July through October. Women in Construction Conference Council:
The Women in Construction Conference Council and help shape one of the industry’s largest WIC Conferences. Council members actively contribute to programming ideas, enhance the attendee experience, and drive outreach efforts to engage sponsors, attendees, and volunteers. Together, the council inspires, educates, and connects industry professionals—men, women, and all those committed to driving meaningful change in construction. Sporting Events Committee:
The Sporting Events Committee and be part of the creative engine behind our signature events. Council members help drive outreach efforts to engage sponsors, attendees, and volunteers—while teeing up sponsorships and raffle prizes that keep our golf tournaments and clay shoots on target.
General Day-of Onsite Event Volunteer:
Play a key role in bringing our events to life. Volunteers support day-of logistics, setup, teardown, assist attendees, and help ensure everything runs smoothly on site. It’s a great way to get involved, give back, and be part of a dynamic event experience. SRBX members will be given priority for volunteer positions.

CIEF Chapter of Northern California (NorCal)
While workforce programming started in 1986 in the Northern California region, the CIEF Chapter of Northern California was officially chartered in February of 2024. The Chapter exists to empower students to pursue careers in the built environment.
