PROMOTING CAREER AWARENESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
During the four-month program, each team is challenged to design and prepare several construction documents according to criteria outlined by CIEF for a 96 square-foot structure. Teams will build their structure during a two-day competition and will be judged by industry professionals on the completion of design, construction, code compliance, and safety.
CIEF will provide all construction materials listed in the Instructor Guide for the Competition. Any additional materials that schools would like to add, can be entered into the Open Competition. Recent years have brought a focus on building with a purpose and teams donate their structures to local nonprofits or sell them to fund a worthwhile cause in their community.
