CIEF Scholarships in Architecture
Founded in 1995, the CIEF Scholarships in Architecture is open to minority students pursuing a career in Architecture and is intended to help increase the representation of minorities in the Architecture profession. Two types of scholarships are offered a five-year scholarship leading to a Bachelor or Master of Architecture and a Community College Scholarship for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor or Master of Architecture Program.
Five-year scholarship leading to a Bachelor or Master of Architecture
A maximum of five (5) scholarships (new or continuing) are awarded each year to students accepted by a college with a Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB – www.naab.org).
Each of the five scholarships has an annual $4,000 award per recipient to help defray tuition and expenses. Scholarship recipients who are progressing successfully toward their degree will continue to receive the $4,000 award annually, up to a maximum of five years. Community College Scholarship
A maximum of three (3) scholarships (new or continuing) are awarded each year to students who will be attending a community college full-time within the state of California. Preference will be given to students attending a community college with an articulated architectural program.
Each of the three scholarships has an annual $2,000 award per recipient for up to three years while attending community college to help defray tuition and expenses (distributed $1,000 per semester upon showing proof of enrollment). Students who successfully complete their community college degree and are accepted as a transfer student by a college with a Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB – www.naab.org) will receive a $4,000 award annually, up to a maximum of three years. Chico State and Sacramento State Construction Management Scholarships
This scholarship is offered to upper division students in the Construction Management Program at California State University, Chico and Sacramento in the spring of each year. This program has been around for more than 20 years and some of our Board of Directors were early recipients of this scholarship. Download Checklist Here. Member Scholarships
This scholarship is offered to students who are children of Sacramento Builders Exchange member firm owners, as well as their employees and their children. Applicants can be high school seniors, two or four-year college students at any level or students attending trade school. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing continuing education in any subject. This program was initiated in 2005. Click here to apply for the 2021 SRBXEF Member Scholarship. Lambert Family Trust Scholarship
The Lambert Family Trust Scholarship was established by Jim Lambert and his family. The purpose of the scholarship is to support students who have a desire to further their education in the construction trades either through entering a formal approved apprenticeship program or through continuing education at any approved construction trade program within the Los Rios College District. Design Build Competition
This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors who are actively involved in the 2021 Design Build Competition at the time of submission. Eligible candidates for the Design Build Scholarship shall demonstrate the intent to pursue a career in the built environment. CREATE Mentoring Program
This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors who are actively involved with the Create Mentoring Program at the time of submission. Eligible candidates for the CREATE Scholarship shall demonstrate the intent to pursue a career in the built environment. For additional criteria and online application Click here. CREATE Summer Camp
*CREATE SUMMER CAMP WILL RETURN IN 2022*
Current sophomores and juniors in the school year are eligible to apply for a $1,250 scholarship towards attending the 2022 CREATE Summer Camp. The CREATE Summer Camp is a six-day, five-night program that introduces students to careers in construction, re-development, engineering, architecture and the trades. Students will design and build a project for a local nonprofit, complete a needs assessment, meet industry executives, tour active job sites, explore Sacramento and San Francisco, and stay at CSU, Sacramento.
